About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Claims Representative to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a Claims Representative - Major Loss, you will be responsible for handling complex claims and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to customers, clearly explain the claims process, and deliver a simplified service that exceeds their expectations.
- Analyze insurance coverage and explain it to customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Gather factual information from customers, third parties, and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances, causes, and eligibility of claims.
- Assess potential liability of insured and third parties based on relevant investigative evidence.
- Anticipate recoveries and direct the investigation accordingly.
- Collaborate with various departments, including claims and underwriting, as well as outside specialists.
- Communicate effectively with customers to keep them informed of progress.
- Annotate and document files in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
- Manage external fees and costs effectively.
- Participate in disaster and overflow calls when necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with insurance products and investigative techniques.
Requirements
- Completed CIP Designation
- Claims adjuster's certificate
- 5 years of experience in roadside claims adjustment
- Comfortable working in a computerized environment
- Bilingual (French and English) - ability to interact with English-speaking customers and colleagues
