Abatement Technologies, a leading global entity in the field of indoor air filtration and restoration solutions, is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Procurement Specialist.

Primary Objective: The Procurement Specialist is tasked with the effective management and timely replenishment of inventory to align with anticipated customer requirements and maintain optimal stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess replenishment recommendations and execute purchase orders, ensuring prompt processing to achieve ideal stock levels and meet demand, including non-inventory acquisitions (e.g., office supplies).
  • Engage with suppliers to oversee purchase order progress, monitor shipments, and address any discrepancies.
  • Inform the Purchasing Manager of any supply chain challenges, inventory deficits, or prolonged lead times.
  • Regularly evaluate inventory levels to ensure optimal stock and prevent shortages or surplus inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager, production teams, branch personnel, and suppliers to manage lead times and reduce supply chain interruptions.
  • Review all transfer order requests and, based on criteria established by the Purchasing Manager, communicate fulfillment approvals to both shipping and receiving locations.
  • Administer KANBAN purchasing for filter and sheet metal components.
  • Establish and maintain KANBAN cards, track consumption rates, and initiate replenishment orders based on KANBAN signals.
  • Work alongside the Purchasing Manager to develop and sustain efficient KANBAN processes.
  • Oversee the sheet metal replenishment process, including stock level monitoring, purchase order initiation, and ensuring timely delivery.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A college diploma in business administration, supply chain management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Buyer or in a comparable role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory management, replenishment planning, and purchasing principles.
  • Proficient in utilizing inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Capability to analyze data, recognize trends, and make informed decisions based on data.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team setting.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal and filter components is advantageous.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: This position primarily involves working at a workstation utilizing a computer. The noise level is generally low to moderate.
