The mobile experience is crucial at theScore. The Mobile Platform team lays the groundwork for our mobile applications, enabling our teams to develop and deploy features more efficiently and with exceptional quality. This team is accountable for enhancing the overall developer experience on both iOS and Android platforms, as we strive to utilize the latest advancements available. We value teamwork to foster innovative architecture and elevate the Android community at theScore. The Mobile Platform team employs creativity and ingenuity to create tools, frameworks, and infrastructure that expedite and enhance the mobile development process. Responsibilities
As an integral member of our Mobile Platform team, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the product team to design, architect, and deliver our exceptional applications.
- Partnering with Android developers to enhance the development experience.
- Refining our code through modern design patterns and refactoring.
- Engaging with fellow engineers through technical discussions, collaboration, and code reviews.
- Creating efficiencies by developing custom and innovative mobile tools.
- Maintaining and improving the mobile CI/CD pipeline and associated tools.
- Addressing complex challenges related to large data sets and responsive user interfaces.
- Assisting our QA team in automating testing and continuous integration processes.
- Staying informed about the latest advancements in Android development.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with Kotlin (our applications are entirely built with Kotlin).
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial Native Android development.
- Proven ability to deliver clean, organized, testable, and high-performance code.
- Strong understanding of Android Architecture Principles and best practices.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Familiarity with Coroutines and Dependency Injection.
- Highly skilled in profiling, troubleshooting, and optimizing application performance.
- Experience integrating APIs and backend services with mobile applications.
- Proficient in writing Unit and UI tests.
- Experience with Git.
- Background in managing large native codebases with significant complexity.
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented design, software development principles, and design patterns.
- Strong understanding of concurrency best practices and potential pitfalls.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- A passion for sports and/or gaming is considered a plus.
