About the Role

The City of North Vancouver is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the management of its civic facilities, including planning, maintenance, and operations of civic buildings and associated grounds. The successful candidate will lead the City's process for long-range asset management, collaborate with other departments to manage properties and real estate holdings, and advise on facilities-related aspects of strategic land acquisition, development, and disposition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, renovation, and redevelopment of civic facilities, including participation in the construction, commissioning, and operational planning of new and renovated facilities.
  • Develop and oversee planning, maintenance, operation, and safety/security programs and services for City facilities and properties, ensuring compliance with custodial, building maintenance, and regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Develop and monitor the Division's capital and operating budgets, adhering to the City's financial policies and procedures.
  • Participate in various management meetings and committees, including City Council and senior management, and liaise with external agencies.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in a relevant discipline (such as Mechanical Engineering, Building Sciences, or Architecture).
  • Project management experience and/or certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related management experience, preferably in a public sector environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, budget, and organizational skills.
