Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at AutoCanada. As an Automotive Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our vehicle repairs and maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and OEM standards.
  • Communicate effectively with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production, cycle times, and customer communication.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections to make recommendations for repairs, ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicles.
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order, creating a detailed story in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Maintain an inventory of common automotive tools and equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as required.
  • Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
  • A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process.
  • Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.
  • Completion of a related post-secondary program and/or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving history.

Work Environment:

  • Indoor/outdoor shop environment with varying temperatures.
  • Regular exposure to fumes, dust, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operation.
  • Work around and operate machinery and other motorized equipment.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Manipulating hands and fingers to operate specialized tools and equipment.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, turning, and twisting to reach vehicle parts.
  • Occasional carrying, pushing, or pulling boxes and equipment to facilitate repairs.
  • Clarity of vision at varying distances to observe diagnostic instruments and manuals.
  • Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to communicate effectively.
