We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Substance Use Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive clinical counselling and therapy services to individuals and families affected by problematic substance use or addictions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess clients and determine referral needs, collaborating with community sources for further and/or specialized services.
- Provide comprehensive clinical counselling and therapy services, including crisis counselling, to individuals and families.
- Formulate and implement treatment plans, working collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide case consultation and follow-up support on treatment decisions, ensuring that treatment plans meet client needs.
- Participate in and lead team and/or local committees, internal and external case conferences, and community development activities.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver in-services, presentations, and training to clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or other health-related or social science discipline.
- Two years' recent related addictions counselling experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional association.
- Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of problematic substance use, addictions, mental health disorders, medication side effects, and substance use counselling techniques.
- Ability to assess, plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and problem-solve.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Punjabi, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with others, including working effectively in a multicultural environment, independently, as part of an interdisciplinary team, and understanding the frameworks of other disciplines.
