Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at STERLING SHEET METAL MFG INC. This is a permanent position that requires a commitment to quality and precision in the manufacturing process.

Work Environment
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset
Site Conditions
  • Work environment may be noisy
  • Exposure to dust is expected
Work Setting
  • Fabrication shop
Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and assemble ductwork for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
  • Operate metalworking machinery to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal
  • Conduct inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications
  • Utilize plasma cutting equipment
  • Cut materials using both power tools and manual techniques
  • Fit and join various sheet metal components
Qualifications
  • Certification: Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification is required
  • Welding Skills: Proficiency in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and resistance or spot welding
  • Specialization: Experience with custom sheet metal products and HVAC systems is preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, crouching, and kneeling
Tools and Equipment
  • Steel-toed safety boots are required
