Job Summary
Crawford & Company is seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster - Property and Casualty to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating property and casualty claims, negotiating settlements, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate property and casualty claims through thorough loss investigation and negotiation of settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.
- Conduct interviews with claimants and witnesses to gather information and assess liability.
- Obtain and review official documents, such as police reports and medical records, to support claims.
- Determine liability and make offers to claimants in a fair and timely manner.
- Issue cheques and dispose of salvage as necessary.
- Pursue subrogation to recover losses from third parties.
- Accurately record, report, and present files, including evidence at legal proceedings.
- Maintain accurate billing, time, and expense records.
- Collaborate with managers to maintain excellent client relationships.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of functional and technical claims handling experience in an insurance environment.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field is considered an asset.
- Licensed and/or CIP designation is required.
- Experience in road adjusting, including investigation and detailed reporting of property and casualty claims.
- Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis is required.
- Computer and reporting skills, including Office 365.
- Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
