Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate property (commercial and residential) and casualty claims through thorough investigation and negotiation of settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.
- Maintain adequate production levels and customer relationships.
- Conduct interviews with claimants and witnesses, obtain official documents, and compare claims information with evidence.
- Determine liability and make offers to claimants.
- Issue cheques and dispose of salvage.
- Pursue subrogation and maintain accurate billing, time, and expense records.
- Collaborate with managers to maintain client relationships.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of functional and technical claims handling experience in an insurance environment.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field is considered an asset.
- Licensed and/or CIP designation.
- Experience in road adjusting, including investigation and detailed reporting of property and casualty claims.
- Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis required.
- Computer and reporting skills, including Office 365.
- Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
- Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth.
