ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Finance Division of SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA operates on a global scale while maintaining a local presence, ensuring the delivery of consistent services through efficient processes and standardized practices. Our primary objectives include: Ensuring the quality and punctuality of financial statements; Supporting management and various business lines with actionable insights on financial performance and forecasts; Providing independent verification of financial aggregates, particularly daily profit and loss explanations for market activities; Facilitating financial communication and ongoing benchmarking; Offering expertise on accounting, regulatory, and tax standards while ensuring compliance.

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team for Market Activities is responsible for performance management reporting, analysis, and secondary control over net banking income, balance sheets, costs, headcount, budgets, and various financial ratios.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst with at least 5 years of relevant experience to assist our team. In this role, you will be tasked with closely monitoring and analyzing the daily profit and loss of market activities, providing insights on risk-weighted asset consumption, and ensuring precise financial reporting. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining the financial stability and growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Profit and Loss Analysis:
    • Compile and present daily results to senior management
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders (product control teams, IT teams, etc.) to fully grasp the underlying business drivers and issues affecting each desk
  • Risk-Weighted Asset Monitoring:
    • Analyze variances in risk-weighted assets against budgets and forecasts
    • Work with cross-functional teams to collect risk-weighted asset-related data and ensure its accuracy
    • Stay informed on regulatory trends impacting risk-weighted asset production and share knowledge with senior management
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of regular financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Help create insightful presentations for senior management and other stakeholders
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
    • Collaborate with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for financial projections
  • Data Integrity and Analysis:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data in relevant systems
    • Conduct thorough data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities
  • Ad hoc Financial Analysis:
    • Undertake special financial analysis projects to provide insights into specific business decisions
    • Work with the FP&A team to develop financial models for scenario planning
  • Process Enhancement:
    • Participate in improving FP&A processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
    • Propose and implement enhancements to reporting formats and data collection methods

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the banking or financial services sector

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong grasp of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Familiarity with banking industry regulations and financial reporting standards is advantageous

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel and other relevant tools
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Experience with financial systems and software is beneficial (Essbase and Cognos)

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics preferred

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential as collaboration with colleagues and partners in various regions is required.
