POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Finance Division at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA operates as a global entity with a local footprint, delivering a consistent suite of services through streamlined processes and standardized practices, utilizing production hubs. Our primary objectives include: ensuring the quality and punctuality of financial statements; aiding management and various business lines with actionable insights on financial performance and forecasts; independently certifying all financial aggregates, particularly the daily P&L for Market Activities; maintaining financial communication and ongoing benchmarking; and providing expertise on accounting, regulatory, and tax standards while ensuring compliance.

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team for Market Activities focuses on Performance Management reporting, in-depth analysis, and secondary control over Net Banking Income (NBI), Balance Sheet, Costs, Headcount, Budget, and various financial ratios.

We are in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Junior FP&A Analyst with at least 5 years of relevant experience to support our operations. In this capacity, you will be tasked with closely monitoring and analyzing the daily P&L of Market Activities, offering insights on Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) consumption, and ensuring precise financial reporting. Your contributions will be crucial in upholding the financial stability and growth trajectory of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily P&L Analysis:
    • Aggregate and communicate daily results to senior management.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders (Product Control teams, IT teams, etc.) to fully comprehend the underlying business drivers and issues affecting each desk.
  • RWA Monitoring:
    • Track and analyze RWA variances against established budgets and forecasts.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to collect RWA-related data and ensure its accuracy.
    • Stay informed on regulatory trends impacting RWA production and facilitate knowledge sharing with senior management.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in preparing regular financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Contribute to the development of insightful presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
    • Collaborate closely with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for financial projections.
  • Data Integrity:
    • Maintain accurate and current financial data in relevant systems.
    • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis:
    • Engage in ad hoc financial analysis projects to provide insights into specific business decisions.
    • Work with the FP&A team to create financial models for scenario planning.
  • Process Enhancement:
    • Participate in improving FP&A processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Propose and implement enhancements to reporting formats and data collection methods.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong grasp of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with banking industry regulations and financial reporting standards is advantageous.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with financial systems and software is beneficial (Essbase and Cognos).

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics is preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential as collaboration with colleagues and partners in various regions is a regular part of this role.
