ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Finance Division of SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA operates as a global entity with localized engagement, delivering a consistent suite of services through streamlined processes and standardized practices, utilizing production hubs. Our Primary Objectives include: Ensuring the quality and punctuality of financial statements; Supporting management and all Business Lines with actionable insights on financial performance and projections; Independent validation of all financial aggregates, particularly the daily P&L analysis on Market Activities; Financial communication and ongoing benchmarking; Offering expertise on accounting, regulatory, and tax standards while ensuring compliance.

The FP&A team for Global Market Activities is responsible for Performance Management reporting, in-depth analysis, and secondary control over Net Banking Income, Balance Sheet, Expenditures, Workforce, Budgeting, and various financial ratios.

We are looking for a motivated and meticulous Junior FP&A Analyst with at least 5 years of relevant experience to join our team. In this capacity, you will be tasked with closely monitoring and evaluating the daily P&L of Market Activities, providing insights on Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) consumption, and ensuring precise financial reporting. Your contributions will be crucial in upholding the financial integrity and growth trajectory of the organization.

YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily P&L Analysis of Market Activities:
    • Aggregate and relay daily results to senior management.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders (Product control teams, IT teams, etc.) to fully grasp the underlying business drivers and issues affecting each desk.
  • RWA Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Monitor and assess RWA variances against budgets and forecasts.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to collect RWA-related data and ensure its accuracy.
    • Stay informed on regulatory trends impacting RWA production and facilitate knowledge sharing with senior management.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the creation of regular financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Contribute to the development of insightful presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
    • Collaborate closely with department heads to gather inputs and assumptions for financial projections.
  • Data Integrity and Analysis:
    • Ensure accurate and current financial data in relevant systems.
    • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities.
  • Ad hoc Analysis:
    • Engage in ad hoc financial analysis projects to provide insights into specific business decisions.
    • Collaborate with the FP&A team to create financial models for scenario planning.
  • Process Enhancement:
    • Participate in the improvement of FP&A processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Propose and implement enhancements to reporting formats and data collection methods.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Strong grasp of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with banking industry regulations and financial reporting standards is advantageous.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES:

  • Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Experience with financial systems and software is beneficial (Essbase and Cognos).

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential as collaboration with colleagues and partners will be frequent.
