Position Summary

The Building Maintenance Technician IV - CCQ Electrician plays a crucial role in executing both preventative and corrective maintenance, along with routine and urgent services on mechanical and electrical systems within the assigned facility. This position demands adherence to established protocols and compliance with both internal and external regulations, including environmental, health, safety, and fire protection standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Possess trades certification or licensing, specifically a Journeyman level Electrician license (CCQ membership required).
  • Execute tasks in alignment with established processes and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Perform regular inspections and monitoring of facility systems to maintain operational efficiency and asset integrity.
  • Provide insights regarding system conditions and suggest improvements or repairs.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs and maintain oversight of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Respond to service requests and perform necessary maintenance tasks.
  • Document maintenance activities in the service management database, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Track and report on the status of maintenance work, initiating documentation for required approvals.
  • Assist in implementing a preventative maintenance program, ensuring deficiencies are recorded and escalated.
  • Participate in facility-related projects as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, arranging for repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Submit all expenditures promptly.
  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

  • Availability for shifts, on-call duties, and emergency response as required.
  • Willingness to utilize personal protective equipment.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Over 4 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance.
  • High school diploma with relevant trades training and certification.
  • Strong ability to follow and execute facility operations processes.
  • Expertise in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for resolving system issues.
  • Current knowledge of fire, life safety, and building codes.
  • Strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety practices.
  • Excellent client-service orientation and urgency in addressing needs.
  • Effective communication skills for information exchange and clarification.

Licenses and Certifications

Required: Journeyman level Electrician license (CCQ membership).

Preferred: Certifications in Facilities Technician or Systems Maintenance Technician through BOMI.

Additional Requirements: Must meet security clearance standards and possess a valid driver's license.
