About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a key member of our team at BGIS, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This includes performing routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as other mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems and equipment, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Respond to service requests and perform maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless facility operations.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
