Job Overview

The Catering Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing all facets of catering services to guarantee outstanding service delivery and remarkable client experiences. This position entails planning, organizing, and executing catering events, supervising staff, and nurturing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning and Coordination:
    • Engage with clients to ascertain their catering requirements and preferences.
    • Craft and present catering proposals, inclusive of menu selections and pricing structures.
    • Oversee event logistics, such as venue arrangements, equipment rentals, and staffing needs.
  2. Menu Development and Execution:
    • Collaborate with culinary teams to design and refresh catering menus.
    • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages.
    • Uphold exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
  3. Staff Management:
    • Recruit, train, and oversee catering personnel, including servers, chefs, and event coordinators.
    • Establish staff schedules and delegate responsibilities for each event.
    • Evaluate staff performance and provide continuous training and support.
  4. Client Relations:
    • Foster and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
    • Address client inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and promptness.
  5. Financial Management:
    • Develop and oversee the catering budget, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
    • Monitor and report on financial metrics, including sales, expenses, and profits.
    • Negotiate agreements with suppliers and vendors.
  6. Marketing and Sales:
    • Formulate and execute marketing strategies to promote catering services.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
    • Participate in networking events and industry functions to enhance the company's visibility.
  7. Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.
    • Implement and oversee food safety and sanitation protocols.
    • Conduct regular inspections of catering facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the food service sector, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • ServeSafe and/or FoodSafe certification with comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations in the food preparation/service industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English.
  • Able to manage employee, customer, and client concerns with discretion while adhering to confidentiality policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficient in leading projects, forecasting business needs, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Highly organized with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Capable of operating all related equipment safely.
  • Proficient in using computers and related software, including POS systems.
  • Able to lift and carry between 0-10 pounds from floor to shoulder height.
  • Frequent standing and walking required.
