About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our bridge team, you will work collaboratively with our divisional team across Ontario to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex technical engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, including detailed design and analysis of bridges.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced team members, providing technical direction and oversight.
  • Prepare and check detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including review of contractor proposals.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Engineering disciplines and departments.
  • Frequently interact with clients and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Lead successful project pursuits, including determining budget estimates and staffing requirements.
  • Perform Project Management duties, including assembling and managing project teams, controlling project budgets and schedules.
Requirements
  • Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligible for license in Ontario.
  • 2-7 years of experience in the design of bridges after graduation and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code or AASHTO.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation or evaluation of existing bridges, steel and concrete structures.
  • Experience with MTO design work would be an asset.
  • Familiar with relevant agency/regulatory approval processes as pertaining to bridge engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting project deliverables and requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
