Position Overview

Parsons Corporation is seeking a skilled Intermediate Bridge Engineer with a solid background in bridge and structural engineering to enhance our dynamic Bridges and Tunnels division. This team is engaged in the execution and management of significant bridge and structure rehabilitation and design initiatives across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and management of engineering deliverables for a diverse range of bridge rehabilitation and new design projects, ensuring they meet and surpass client quality expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to define project scopes, establish budgets and timelines, and provide technical leadership.
  • Conduct intricate engineering tasks with precision, while guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Prepare and validate comprehensive engineering calculations, models, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Offer technical support during construction phases, including evaluating contractor submissions.
  • Facilitate coordination with various engineering disciplines and departments.
  • Establish and nurture productive relationships with clients.
  • Perform inspections on complex bridges and structures, leading inspection teams and offering recommendations for renewal and repairs.
  • Drive successful project pursuits by estimating budgets, staffing needs, and crafting compelling proposals.
  • Manage project teams, budgets, schedules, and ensure quality control of deliverables.
  • Provide guidance to CAD Designers and less experienced engineers on project-related tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant codes and regulations.
  • Engage in local travel for site inspections and client interactions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering design, including inspection, analysis, and construction.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Professional Engineer license in Ontario or eligibility for registration.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6) and relevant structural manuals.
  • Proficient in bridge engineering design principles and technical report writing.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and analysis software.
