Position Overview

Parsons Corporation is seeking a skilled Intermediate Bridge Engineer with substantial experience in bridge and structural engineering to enhance our dynamic Bridges and Tunnels division. This team is dedicated to the execution and management of significant bridge and structure rehabilitation and design initiatives across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and management of engineering deliverables for a diverse range of bridge rehabilitation and new design projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to identify project challenges, define scope, and establish budgets and timelines.
  • Execute intricate engineering tasks with precision while guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive engineering calculations, models, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Provide engineering support during construction phases, including contractor submission evaluations.
  • Engage in cross-disciplinary coordination with various engineering departments.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with clients.
  • Conduct inspections of complex bridges and structures, leading inspection teams and offering maintenance recommendations.
  • Drive project pursuits by estimating budgets, staffing needs, and crafting compelling proposals.
  • Manage project teams, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure quality control of deliverables.
  • Deliver technical guidance to CAD designers and less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Travel locally for site inspections and client engagements.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering, encompassing design, inspection, and construction.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Ontario or eligibility for registration.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6) and related standards.
  • Proficient in bridge engineering design principles and analysis techniques.
  • Exceptional technical report writing capabilities.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and analysis software.
