We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our bridge team, you will work collaboratively with our divisional team across Ontario to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex technical engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, including detailed design and analysis of bridges.
- Lead and mentor less experienced team members, providing technical direction and oversight.
- Prepare and check detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Provide technical support during construction, including review of contractor proposals.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments.
- Face clients and maintain effective working relationships.
- Lead successful project pursuits, including determining budget estimates and staffing requirements.
- Perform project management duties, including assembling and managing project teams.
- Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligible for license in Ontario.
- 2-7 years of experience in the design of bridges after graduation and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code or AASHTO.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry-standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation or evaluation of existing bridges, steel and concrete structures.
- Experience with MTO design work would be an asset.
- Familiar with relevant agency/regulatory approval processes as pertaining to bridge engineering.
- Demonstrated ability in meeting project deliverables and requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
