ROLE OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the HR Manager, Shared Services, the HR Specialist is tasked with providing a wide range of HR services to both employees and management. This role ensures adherence to company policies and legal standards while supporting various HR and Payroll functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesReady to take on new challenges? Here’s a summary of the primary duties:
General HR Functions- Work collaboratively with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits teams to deliver exceptional HR services;
- Offer timely guidance and information to employees and managers regarding HR-related matters, including benefits, retirement plans, leave of absence, and vacation policies;
- Ensure accurate and current employee records are maintained in the HRIS (Human Resource Information System).
- Support the administration of benefits programs, including enrollments, modifications, and employee communications;
- Effectively communicate benefits plans to participants and ensure accurate information is reflected in the HR system;
- Process leave requests and manage employee returns to work.
- Assist with basic payroll inquiries and tasks;
- Verify and update payroll data, including employee timesheets, deductions, and direct deposit information.
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
Education Requirements- Certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a College degree combined with relevant experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR specialist role, ideally within a shared services environment.
- Familiarity with HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Workday (preferred).
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
- Bilingualism in French and English, both written and spoken, is required.
