Position Title: Director, HR Support Systems

Status: FT Admin

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: People(s) & Culture

Campus/Location: North Campus – currently operating on a hybrid model with three on-campus days.

Minimum Starting Salary: $139,301; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About The Director, HR Support Systems Role

Reporting to the Director, Organizational Effectiveness, this position is responsible for leading the Human Resources Systems Team to complete implementation, management and sustainment of the Human Resources Management System (Oracle HCM Cloud). The Director will build, own and operationalize the HR Systems strategy and roadmap, support current and future business needs while also balancing the strategic and operational needs of Human Resources. The Director, HR Support Systems will own and manage the HRMS systems for Humber Polytechnic, maintain current and deliver future improvements, manage the release and upgrade roadmap, and in partnership with Organizational Effectiveness, promote end user utilization and adoption. The Director will be responsible for providing leadership in alignment with the strategic plan, and for building a team that delivers excellence in HR systems, processes, data, and project management.

About you:

Education

  • The successful candidate will possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Information Systems or Computer Science.

Experience/Skills

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced, strategic and energetic senior HR systems professional with a minimum of five years of director-level experience within a large, complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-union environment.

Your experience in leading HRMS-enabled change supports your ability to coach your team and your clients in adopting, embracing and leveraging new processes and ways of working. In addition to establishing effective governance, processes, and structure, the Director will understand, foster, and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, other universities, outside agencies, various levels of government, and vendors. You are a respected and trusted decision-maker with demonstrated success as a leader and manager of people. A strategic thinker, you collaborate well with other departments including Information Technology Services, Finance, and Faculties, and can successfully deliver on the core objectives.

You have strong strategy, operations, and project management experience, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Recognized for your collaborative and business-focused approach to human resource information systems, you have a strong track record of leading organizational and cultural change. You are visionary, strong people manager with HCM and/or Cloud system implementation experience and have developed a brand for simplifying processes and executing the fundamentals at a high level.
