Real Estate Capital Markets Analyst

Position Overview
BMO Capital Markets is in search of an Analyst with a keen interest in real estate to assist the Real Estate Capital Markets team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist deal teams in business development, presentation preparation, and transaction execution for investment banking and property brokerage projects.
- Draft and prepare comprehensive confidential information memoranda and marketing materials.
- Gather real estate market data and maintain research databases.
- Develop financial models utilizing Argus Software and Excel, and conduct financial analyses to aid in property valuation across various asset classes.
- Execute corporate-level financial modeling, strategic analyses, discounted cash flow assessments, comparable company evaluations, and precedent transaction analyses as necessary.
- Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses of company and industry-specific data.
- Present analytical insights to deal teams to support strategic recommendations for clients.
- Foster effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, ideally in real estate, finance, economics, commerce, mathematics, or engineering.
- Proven interest in real estate, finance, and capital markets.
- Completion or ongoing pursuit of a master's degree or professional designation (CFA, CPA, AACI) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Argus Software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Work Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, real estate investment, financial analysis, or investment brokerage.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Type: Salaried
The compensation package may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Additional benefits include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, life and accident insurance, and retirement savings plans.
