Vice President of Research Initiatives

Position Overview
The newly created position of Vice President of Research Initiatives is essential for cultivating a dynamic research environment at CareerBeacon. This role will oversee the promotion of impactful research that leads to publications in reputable journals and influential books, while also facilitating partnerships with industry stakeholders. The Vice President will manage the allocation of research funds, assessing applications in accordance with established Research Policies. Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer, the Vice President of Research Initiatives will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Vision
- Encourage research across the organization, supporting faculty and nurturing a culture of inquiry.
- Guide faculty and students in their research projects and professional growth.
- Collaborate with other executives to align research efforts with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Promote an atmosphere that values both high-caliber research and its application in industry contexts.
Research Development and Collaboration
- Assist faculty in crafting research proposals and overseeing funded initiatives.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research and partnerships both within and beyond the organization.
- Stay informed about the latest developments, trends, and challenges in higher education research.
- Establish and maintain connections with industry partners, funding organizations, and academic institutions.
Research Governance and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards and integrity in all research endeavors.
- Supervise the implementation of research policies, procedures, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Track and report on the progress and outcomes of research initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a higher education context.
- A proven track record of scholarly research and publications in peer-reviewed venues.
- Experience in collaboratively guiding and supporting faculty members.
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in research and higher education.
- Strong grasp of research compliance, policies, and ethical standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with diverse stakeholders, while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment in challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in interdisciplinary research and collaborative projects.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing researchers at both faculty and student levels.
