Job Summary

Niagara Industrial Maintenance Ltd. is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, and ensuring that welds meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Manual or Semi-Automatic Welding Equipment: Utilize manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join metal parts together, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints and Specifications: Carefully read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements for each welding project.
  • Examine Welds and Ensure Quality: Inspect welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications, making adjustments as needed to achieve high-quality results.
  • Operate Manual or Semi-Automatic Flame-Cutting Equipment: Safely operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to cut metal parts to precise specifications.
  • Operate Oxygen Arc Cutting Equipment (AOC): Utilize oxygen arc cutting equipment to cut metal parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Determine Weldability of Materials: Assess the weldability of various materials, taking into account factors such as metal type, thickness, and composition.
  • Welding Techniques: Employ various welding techniques, including flux core arc welding (FCAW) and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), to achieve high-quality welds.
  • Mining Equipment: Operate cutting machines to cut metal parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Area of Specialization: Focus on custom fabrication, creating complex metal parts and assemblies for various industrial applications.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a fast-paced fabrication environment, requiring a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. Maintain attention to detail and work in a team environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, a team player attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
