Clinical Mentorship Specialist

About the Role
Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to fill the role of Clinical Mentor. As a Clinical Mentor, you will provide guidance and support to newly graduated nurses, internationally educated nurses, and nurses looking to upskill, ensuring a successful transition into practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support nurses in developing the knowledge and skills necessary for practice within the clinical environment.
- Act as a professional role model and maintain positive relationships with various teams to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with nurses to identify and develop learning goals specific to their needs.
- Facilitate learning opportunities that are relevant to the nurse and clinical unit learning objectives/competencies.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to nurses to ensure continued professional growth and integration into the hospital.
- Promote a mentoring environment that empowers nurses to ask questions and develop their communication, problem-solving, clinical, and professional skills.
Requirements
- A Registered Nurse with current clinical expertise in nursing skills.
- 2-3 years' experience on the respective unit (Acute Medicine/Women & Children's Health/Inpatient Mental Health) preferred.
- Experience in Clinical Education/Teaching of undergraduate nursing students or other relevant teaching experience.
