Position Overview

As an Optical Service Technician at Rockwood Optical, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of health care professionals in delivering exceptional vision care services.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 month to less than 7 months of relevant experience.
Work Environment

This position is based in an optical retail environment, where you will engage with clients and assist in various operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist health care professionals in providing quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate prescription records for all clients.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of all optical equipment.
  • Prepare and manage necessary equipment and supplies for daily operations.
  • Process insurance claims, including health insurance and workers' compensation.
  • Oversee inventory levels and maintain supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including processing files and paperwork.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
  • Gather and document patients' general medical and ophthalmic histories.
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception and telephone inquiries.
  • Order and organize supplies and equipment as needed.
