Job Title: Professional Practice Clinician

Halton Healthcare Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Practice Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Program, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement staff orientation and education activities to ensure that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Facilitate and expedite continuous learning and professional development among nursing and allied health staff through educating, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Provide consultation to teams related to complex clinical issues, standards of care, and best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on evidence-based practices and standards to mentor and role model to others.
  • Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures related to professional practice and clinical care, and provide supporting education and evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality indicators to ensure that our Mental Health Program is meeting the highest standards of care.
  • Support program planning, development, and evaluation to optimize client outcomes and experience.
  • Promote an environment characterized by continuous learning, innovation, and interprofessional collaboration.
  • Collaborate with other Professional Practice Clinicians to plan and organize corporate quality management and educational initiatives.
  • Provide administrative backup to Patient Care Managers within the Program in their absence.
  • Participate in community and regional initiatives that have a direct relationship to the Mental Health Program.
  • Facilitate and promote staff to attain/retain recognized professional credentials as it relates to their positions in the Program.
  • Responsible for specific related projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in a related field.
  • Must be a regulated healthcare professional in the Province of Ontario with current registration.
  • Advanced expertise in counseling modalities (e.g., CBT, brief therapy, motivational interviewing, or DBT).
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of mental health assessment and counseling, including trauma-informed care.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within an outpatient mental health setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge/experience with quality improvement strategies.
  • Knowledge and experience in program evaluation.
  • Skilled in the principles of adult learning and experienced in teaching adult learners.
  • Experience with developing curricula and delivering education/training.
  • Flexibility to travel between the hospital and offsite clinic location.
