Role Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor fosters and encourages a culture centered on safety, employee engagement, and outstanding service within the facility. This role primarily involves on-site leadership, guiding the warehouse team while coaching staff on safety protocols, service excellence, and productivity enhancements. The Supervisor oversees the warehouse team by evaluating, measuring, coaching, and nurturing both individual and team performance. Daily metrics are monitored to implement operational improvements aimed at achieving excellence, ensuring a safe work environment, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture prioritizing health and safety.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to uphold compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Partner with regional health and safety managers to execute incident prevention initiatives.
- Direct daily warehouse activities, prioritize tasks, and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Engage in the recruitment, training, and development of personnel.
- Commit to delivering superior service to all customers.
- Set operational goals and priorities in collaboration with the Director of Warehouse Operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance.
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation, participating in physical counts, and overseeing incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Assist in implementing cost control strategies, including managing overtime and expenses.
- Prepare employee schedules to ensure workflow aligns with or exceeds KPIs.
- Guarantee the safe and efficient operation of all handling equipment.
- Accurately complete necessary records and reports in a timely manner.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Post-secondary education in operations, logistics, or a related discipline.
- First aid certification is advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Familiarity with HACCP systems.
- Dedication to workplace health and safety.
- Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to effectively manage shifting priorities.
- Proactive work attitude with a focus on results.
- Experience with warehouse management software.
- Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
