Opportunity

As a Wrap Around Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting vulnerable individuals who have recently arrived in Canada. You will provide individualized support and guidance to help them navigate their new environment and build successful lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Connect with clients through community partnerships and referrals, providing information about program eligibility and services.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand client needs, strengths, and challenges, developing personalized support plans.
  • Facilitate access to essential resources such as housing, employment assistance, language training, and legal aid.
  • Provide ongoing support and monitoring, ensuring clients are progressing towards their goals and addressing any emerging issues.
  • Collaborate with other service providers to create a comprehensive network of support for clients.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on topics relevant to newcomers, such as settlement services and cultural integration.
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports to track program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology) with experience in settlement services or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and newcomers to Canada.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
