Position Overview
CB Canada is looking for a dedicated Forecast Analyst to enhance our Renewable Energy Analytics team. The primary focus of this role is to establish and oversee forecasting services, evaluate their precision, improve forecasting outcomes, explore innovative modeling techniques, and assist clients in a dynamic and fast-evolving sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide precise and dependable forecasting services for energy traders, grid regulators, and plant operators.
- Generate reports on forecasting performance.
- Engage with clients to ensure services align with their needs.
- Investigate new modeling techniques.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings focused on wind and solar energy forecasting, promoting our forecasting services.
- Support the commercial and marketing facets of the business.
- Be available for on-call support to address operational issues.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Meteorology, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field, either in industry or academia.
- Proficiency in Python is required.
- Experience with wind and/or solar energy is preferred.
- Familiarity with global weather patterns is advantageous.
- Experience with C#, MATLAB, and/or SQL is preferred.
- Background in developing and implementing machine learning models is preferred.
- Availability for on-call duties during weekends and public holidays, up to two weekends per month.
- Experience with statistical modeling techniques is preferred.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Able to thrive in a high-pressure consultancy environment with strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
