About the Role

Adecco Canada has partnered with a prominent Engineering Consulting firm to hire a Senior Building Science Engineer to join their team in Ottawa and contribute to a variety of innovative Building Science projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead the design, analysis, and execution of building science engineering projects across different phases of construction and restoration.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and project managers, to integrate building science principles into design processes for both residential and commercial projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct on-site visual inspections, performance testing, and investigations of building envelope components, and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Review and Approval: Provide senior-level review of technical documents and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists.
  • Field Inspections and Reporting: Manage field inspections and reporting for building envelope construction projects.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in building science, sustainability, and building code standards.
  • Client Communication: Prepare engineering proposals and maintain clear communication with clients.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience in building science projects.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in the Province of Ontario (required).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in the Ontario Building Code and construction legislation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients, contractors, and team members. Exceptional oral and written English communication abilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Adaptability and flexibility in managing changing priorities. Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Bilingual skills in French and English are advantageous. Certification in thermography (level 1, 2, or 3) is a plus.
Compensation

Base Salary + Benefits + additional compensation perks depending on experience.
