Job Title: Building Sciences Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Sciences Engineer to join our team at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. in Ottawa Headquarters, with project responsibilities in Kingston.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing building envelope systems for retrofit and new construction, coordinating with internal and external disciplines, and completing reviews of existing building envelope systems and elements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing building envelope systems for commercial, institutional, low and high-rise residential buildings
  • Coordinating with internal and external disciplines, including consultants and architects
  • Completing reviews of existing building envelope systems and elements
  • Completing written condition/evaluation reports
  • Managing projects of various scope and complexity
  • Applying design software for building envelope design
  • Recommending technological improvements to the department
  • Providing guidance and direction to junior engineers and technicians
  • Client interfacing and project management duties
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Building Science
  • Professional experience working on building science restoration projects
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to provide leadership to junior engineers and technicians
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Self-motivating and ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism
