The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on new construction and restoration projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership: Lead the design, analysis, and execution of building science engineering projects across different phases of construction and restoration.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and project managers, to integrate building science principles into design processes for both residential and commercial projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct on-site visual inspections, performance testing, and investigations of building envelope components, and produce detailed technical reports.
  • Review and Approval: Provide senior-level review of technical documents and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists.
  • Field Inspections: Manage field inspections and reporting for building envelope construction projects.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in building science, sustainability, and building code standards.
  • Client Communication: Prepare engineering proposals and maintain clear communication with clients.
  • Mentorship: Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Building Science, Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience in building science projects.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in the Province of Ontario (required).
  • Skills: Proficient in the Ontario Building Code and construction legislation.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Language: Exceptional oral and written English communication abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability: Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills in French and English are advantageous.
  • Certification: Certification in thermography (level 1, 2, or 3) is a plus.

Compensation - Base Salary + Benefits + additional compensation perks depending on experience.
