Job Summary

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and collaboration within the healthcare team.
  • Participate in patient care coordination and discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) is mandatory.
  • IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration Certification required.
  • Compliance with CPR training as per Employer policy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient in software programs and applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of nursing standards, ethics, and regional policies.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Indigenous language proficiency or knowledge of Indigenous customs, with a commitment to cultural safety and humility.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on patient safety and well-being.
Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort may be necessary, with a focus on patient mobility and transfer.
  • Rotating shifts and weekend work may be required, with a commitment to providing 24/7 care and support.
