Position Overview
We are representing LRO Staffing in the search for a seasoned bilingual leader to take on the role of Director of Operations and Labour Relations. This pivotal position entails overseeing high-level management functions that align with the organization's operational, political, and strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the National President, the chosen candidate will guide a cohesive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, manage, and enhance the internal Labour Relations, Membership Services, and Finance teams.
- Oversee compliance with legislated and contractual representation duties.
- Provide strategic support and expert advice to the National President and Council.
- Ensure the internal team operates efficiently and effectively delivers services.
- Facilitate training and supervision to guarantee adherence to by-laws and collective agreements.
- Advise on multi-jurisdictional labour legislative matters and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to meet organizational objectives.
- Manage financial resources in accordance with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related legal field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluency in both English and French is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in public administration or labour law.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- A minimum of 5 years of significant experience representing a complainant in grievance procedures or before administrative tribunals.
- Experience in advocacy, community organizing, or labour education is considered an asset.
Compensation and Work Environment
This role offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $135,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will benefit from a hybrid work arrangement and complimentary parking.
