We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our Public Health department at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing dental health prevention and promotion services to communities and populations in Northern Health.
Key Responsibilities- Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia.
- Provide dental health prevention and promotion services for communities and populations in Northern Health.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote client-focused care and demonstrate care for and with clients and significant others.
- Develop and implement activities to promote cooperation among the team and collaborate across disciplines.
- Provide education and training to clients and others on dental health and hygiene practices.
- Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene from the British Columbia College of Oral Health.
- Current registration and licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the Province of British Columbia.
- Minimum one (1) year recent, related dental hygiene experience including experience in a community health organization or the equivalent working with children, youth, and their families.
- Current valid BC driver's license and use of personal vehicle for business use.
- Experience working in a community health organization or a similar setting.
- Knowledge of community health principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and the public.
- Comprehensive benefit packages including extended health/dental and a municipal pension plan for part-time and full-time employees.
- Four weeks vacation with one year of continuous service.
