About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Student to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As an Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals in the construction industry and gain valuable experience in estimating and quantity surveying.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates and quantity surveys for construction projects
  • Review and analyze project data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trade contractors and suppliers
  • Perform bid document control and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist in the development of bid day assignments and ensure timely completion
  • Visit job sites periodically to gather information and ensure project progress
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of construction estimating software and systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead estimator
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical, electrical, or civil major
  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam an asset
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
