About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Student to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As an Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced estimators and gain valuable experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of quantity surveys and bid documents
  • Review and analyze construction estimates and bids
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trade contractors and suppliers
  • Perform general subtrade solicitation duties and bid document control
  • Assist in the development of estimating manuals and systems
  • Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing
  • Transfer and review quantities with lead estimators
  • Perform bid day assignments and visit job sites periodically
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical, electrical, or civil major
  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience an asset
  • Application of various computer software programs, including Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
