About the Role:

As a Respiratory Therapist I with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our acute care hospital. Located in Calgary, our Peter Lougheed Centre is a leading healthcare facility that offers a wide range of services, including inpatient and outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients and develop individualized respiratory therapy care plans to improve clinical outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and promote a culture of safety and respect.
  • Provide training and education to healthcare providers on the use and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
  • Contribute to departmental process improvement initiatives and participate in quality improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Active registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
  • Experience in ICU, ER, wards, NICU, and outreach settings.
  • Procedural sedation experience, including bronchoscopy and TEE suite.
  • NRP, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
  • Charge experience and Connect Care experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional development courses within the last 3 years.
  • Preceptor training courses.
  • Completed orientation to the PLC site.
