Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services Health Care Aide plays a vital role in delivering quality patient care by performing essential services that promote the physical and emotional well-being and comfort of patients. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will assist with bathing, feeding, transferring, lifting, and portering patients, as well as delivering specimens to labs, ordering supplies, and maintaining unit equipment. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide personal assistance and support services to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
  • Work collaboratively with nurses to provide routine care and meet patients' needs
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with patients and health professionals

Requirements:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Healthcare Provider certification required
  • Recent Neuroscience experience required
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology
