As the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Automation, your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the technology framework that facilitates automation across Canada Life's business functions. This role will significantly impact customer satisfaction by collaborating with various departments on transformation projects aimed at reducing processing times and enhancing the overall experience.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a strategic consultant to Business Leaders in formulating their IT strategies, offering problem-solving, mentorship, and collaborative support.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, service provider options, and competitive trends.
- Formulate long-term plans and ensure the effective application of technology to achieve business objectives.
- Advocate for the company's automation technologies to gain a competitive edge and improve customer experiences, providing insights to Business Leaders on implementation strategies.
- Oversee a significant modernization initiative to advance our automation objectives, transitioning legacy systems to modern platforms.
- Direct both strategic and daily technology operations with a strong emphasis on delivery excellence, ensuring optimal use of financial and human resources.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with technology leaders to shape practices, processes, and standards that are both customer-focused and technology-driven.
- Design, procure, or modify technology solutions and processes that create a competitive advantage for the business unit or the organization as a whole.
- Lead efforts to attract, retain, and develop talent, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes value delivery and influences the broader Technology team.
- Manage risk and compliance in line with Canadian and global standards.
- Over 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a background in either business units or technology.
- At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing technology, with a strong focus on automation.
- Experience in the financial services sector, particularly within regulated environments.
- Proven ability to navigate and influence within matrixed and complex organizations.
- Experience in building and managing geographically diverse teams to achieve business objectives.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on delivery excellence, communication, collaboration, and relationship building.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executives and stakeholders.
- Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
