Clinical Development Physician, Immuno-Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Development Physician to join our team at Astellas Pharma Inc. as a key member of our Immuno-Oncology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing clinical trials, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance our clinical development programs.
Responsibilities- Design and execute clinical trials in immuno-oncology, ensuring high-quality data and timely completion.
- Collaborate with medical monitors, clinical operations, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and maintain scientific and clinical networks, seeking external opinion leaders as needed.
- Present clinical development plans and progress to governance meetings and regulatory authorities.
- Work with development scientists and clinical operations leads to ensure efficient execution of clinical trials and acquisition of high-quality clinical data.
- Design scientifically rigorous, cost-effective, and patient-centric clinical trials in accordance with the clinical development plan.
- MD or MD/PhD with oncology fellowship complete and board certification.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in clinical trial design and execution, with a balance of experience in academia and industry.
- Proven record of designing clinical trials that produce high-quality data in a timely manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience working in global teams and a global matrixed, remote working environment.
- Extensive experience in gastroesophageal or thoracic oncology or immuno-oncology in solid tumors.
- Prior clinical research experience in an academic setting.
- Experience in all phases of clinical development and interfaces with drug discovery through marketing.
