Position: R&D Program Manager

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, or Fairport, NY, USA. Hybrid role with required travel to work.

Your Contribution

The Program Manager will oversee the introduction of new products and systems from strategic identification through to commercialization and production. This role involves collaboration with the engineering team to ensure alignment on project scope, risk management, issue resolution, effective communication across functions, and leading the project team to successful outcomes utilizing Fortive Business Systems (FBS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement agile methodologies and scrum frameworks to deliver essential customer-facing enterprise system solutions.
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to provide exceptional solutions to our global clientele while fostering and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and manage potential risks while adhering to project timelines.
  • Support and emphasize the significance of project documentation.
  • Report project status to the executive leadership team.
  • Establish project guidelines, best practices, and budget oversight.
  • Plan for the execution of quality assurance and organizational change initiatives.
  • Regularly update the PMO Director on successes, areas needing improvement, and programs at risk to ensure timely corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
  • Significant experience as an engineering Program Manager with a thorough understanding of Project Management processes across platform-level programs.
  • Strong grasp of lean product development and systems development practices and lifecycles.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within multi-functional teams across various time zones.
  • Commitment to working within a structured, process-oriented, and continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience with Jira and Microsoft Suite, including MS Project.
  • Proficient in producing high-quality written reports and relevant presentations.
