Job Overview

Jewish Addiction Community Services (JACS) Toronto is in search of a skilled and dedicated professional to lead therapeutic interventions for individuals affected by substance use disorders and associated psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive support to clients navigating intricate personal circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized counseling sessions for clients facing addiction and mental health issues.
  • Organize and co-facilitate group therapy sessions, available both online and in-person.
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision and contribute to team meetings.
  • Compile clinical data for reporting and assessment purposes.
  • Engage in outreach initiatives as necessary.
  • Conduct initial consultation calls for potential clients seeking assistance with addiction and mental health challenges.

We are looking for a committed professional with extensive experience in mental health and addiction therapy to join our organization. The successful candidate will possess a diverse skill set and the expertise necessary to provide outstanding care to our clients. Essential qualifications include:

  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in mental health and addiction therapy.
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology is mandatory.
  • Significant experience in treating both substance use and behavioral addictions.
  • Proven ability to provide mental health support to male clients, with a strong understanding of issues related to men's mental health.
  • Experience working with clients across various stages of recovery, including abstinence and harm reduction.
  • Familiarity with virtual therapy platforms, including individual and group sessions via telehealth services.
  • Proficient in managing client intake processes, ensuring timely assessments and follow-ups.
  • Competent in maintaining accurate case documentation.
  • Capable of responding effectively to crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community and its resources is highly valued.
  • Understanding of the Orthodox Jewish community is considered beneficial.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Awareness of community-based addiction treatment programs and resources is an asset.
  • Availability for flexible work hours, including evenings as needed.
