Job Title: Registered Nurse

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a part-time, temporary Registered Nurse to join our team in the Structured Observation and Treatment Unit and Women's Secure Forensic Unit.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care to clients with a wide range of mental illnesses, substance abuse issues, and who may be involved in varying phases of the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide client assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate interprofessional plans of care
  • Liaise with internal and external services and community agencies to coordinate care for clients
  • Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer service in approach to care and service delivery
  • Work with clients from diverse populations, contribute to program development, participate in clinical supervision, and provide education support and supervision to students
  • Participate in the preparation of reports and implement the unit's risk management processes
Requirements:
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate
  • Preference given to candidates with a BScN and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behavior
What We Offer:

This part-time, temporary position is a 0.3 commitment, which may be subject to change as per the Collective Agreement. Additional hours may be available based on operational needs. This position is part of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
