Job Summary

The Natrona County School District is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our team. As a Classroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing support to the instructional process and serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders, including students, parents, colleagues, and administrators, to establish and maintain leadership and positive relationships while focusing on high expectations and continuous improvement for student learning.
  • Design instruction, including lesson plans and individualized instruction, to ensure all students are engaged and participating in individual and classroom learning objectives.
  • Develop and guide learning in partnership with students, including classroom mission and learning goals, strategies and processes, and student recognition and celebrations.
  • Evaluate individual student and class performance, including analyzing assessment data and other comparative data, to gauge and subsequently adjust instruction to improve individual and class performance.
  • Implement current best practice instruction and resources, including focus on student needs and goals, classroom priorities, and student-centered learning.
  • Maintain documentation and required reports, including student data and reports, personal teaching certification, and other relevant documents.
  • Manage classroom structure and procedures, including activities, behavioral expectations, and positive classroom culture, to establish a positive, safe, and orderly optimal learning environment.
  • Model positive behaviors, including professional and ethical public image, relational skills, and appropriate verbal and written communications, to promote appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
  • Oversee assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student workers to ensure the operation of an effective and efficient classroom structure.
  • Participate in various meetings, including team and/or building meetings, professional growth opportunities, and parent/teacher conferences, to convey and/or gather information to perform functions.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including building emergency protocol, fights, suspected child abuse and/or substance abuse, and other safety concerns.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
  • Current Wyoming teacher certification, endorsed in content area as required per certification.
