Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Establishes, upholds, and interprets nursing practice standards.
  • Conducts essential skills such as assessments and interventions in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
  • Engages in interdisciplinary committees that shape policies impacting nursing practices.
  • Adheres to facility protocols for resident admissions and transfers, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Conducts rounds in resident rooms, ensuring that nursing staff receive necessary reports and have scheduled assignments.
  • Supports L.P.N.s in creating routines that promote high-quality nursing care.
  • Facilitates communication between shifts, ensuring accurate reporting and medication counts.
  • Coordinates and prepares MDS schedules for assessments.
  • Completes MDS Booklet as per established timelines.
  • Reviews and approves all completed MDS and RAP Summaries.
  • Develops individualized care plans based on residents' specific health care needs.
  • Updates and revises care plans as necessary.
  • Ensures the implementation of care plans, prioritizing anticipated outcomes.
  • Monitors the quality of care provided to residents in the assigned unit.
  • Communicates the philosophy and objectives of nursing services to residents and families.
  • Identifies learning needs of residents and families based on discharge plans and provides necessary education.
  • Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and the health care team.
  • Oversees the administration and accurate documentation of medications.
  • Investigates and addresses medication discrepancies.
  • Notifies physicians of significant observations and abnormal results promptly.
  • Transcribes physician orders accurately and ensures timely implementation.
  • Documents and processes incident reports for any accidents or injuries.
  • Welcomes guidance and feedback to enhance professional practice.
  • Complies with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.
  • Maintains adequate stock levels of medications and medical supplies.
  • Takes responsibility for directing nursing shifts effectively.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator.

Qualifications for the Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Nursing or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated nursing experience with strong clinical skills and leadership abilities.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the aging process.
  • Ability to work independently in assigned responsibilities.

Must be Canadian citizen

Salary: Up to $40 per hour
