About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Skyluxe Roofing and Sheet Metal. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of construction costs, including labour, materials, and equipment
    • Prepare and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Project Analysis
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
    • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential risks
    • Analyze project data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms to clients and stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
    • Communicate project status and progress to team members and stakeholders
  • Cost Control and Management
    • Develop and implement cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget
    • Monitor and analyze project expenses to identify areas for cost savings
    • Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
    Requirements
    • Education
      • College or CEGEP diploma in a related field (e.g. construction management, engineering, architecture)
    • Experience
      • 2-3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
    • Skills
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
      • Proficiency in estimating software and tools
    • Language
      • English language proficiency
    • Work Environment
      • 35 hours per week
