Position Overview:

As a Fleet Maintenance Operations Supervisor at Penske, you will leverage your strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities to inspire your team of diesel technicians, fostering a positive work environment while ensuring customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include the coordination, scheduling, and oversight of vehicle maintenance operations, encompassing preventative measures as well as mechanical and electrical repairs for a variety of vehicles.

Work Schedule: Evening shifts, Monday to Friday

Your role will involve participating in the recruitment, training, and continuous development of vehicle maintenance technicians, ensuring that our skilled workforce consistently meets customer expectations.

Ideal Candidates: Should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet vehicle maintenance management, with a preference for those who have overseen technicians. Candidates with at least 3 years of team leadership experience in a metrics-driven environment are also encouraged to apply. This position offers a pathway to advance into a leadership role within Penske, and prior mechanical experience is not a requirement.

All new supervisors in maintenance will participate in a training program designed to equip you with essential skills, including knowledge of vehicle components and maintenance technologies. The training emphasizes effective service department management, leadership of team members, and customer engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management preferred, or at least 3 years of team management experience in a metrics-driven setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • An associate's degree or technical school certification is preferred
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and web-based tools, is preferred
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a critical function of this role
  • Willingness to travel as needed within the district for customer visits and training
