About the Role

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Supervisor to join our team in Winnipeg, MB.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily planning and scheduling of all repair work to optimize productivity.
  • Review mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinate repair schedules.
  • Assist with inventory control to ensure necessary equipment and part levels are maintained and purchases are within budget.
  • Review and approve expenses within approval levels, referring larger expenses or major repairs to the Fleet Manager.
  • Complete required record keeping associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Mentor apprentice technicians and provide training to complete their apprenticeship program.
  • Conduct daily shop huddles and fleet walks.
  • Ensure shop equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Journeyman/Red Seal is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in leading a team is desirable but not required.
  • One (1) or more years of lead technician or supervisory experience.
Working Conditions

The Fleet Supervisor must be able to work inside and/or outside in all different weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat.

  • Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping/gripping, and pushing/pulling.
  • Work utilizing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety-toed boot, utility gloves, reflective vest, hearing and eye protection, hard hat, etc.
  • Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
